Doubtful. When they raised deposit prices last around here (from $10 to $30), instead of their earlier just swap, they really started checking reciepts or else they would only give you $10 for them. or nothing at all in my college town. I just gave the shell to a friend so he could deal with returning/swapping it.I don't think that $100 deposit would prevent frat boys from around the country from purchasing their beverage of choice in the most economical way possible (other than brewing their own(pardon the stereotyping)). If anything it would help get some of the "privately reserved" kegs back into circulation when they were returned instead of forking over a new deposit. Theft might go up a touch, but not if you subtract the passive aggressive "theft" via forfeited deposits.
