Funny keg with rubber top/bottom: help!

I have access to a keg with a rubber top/bottom. I'd like to use it for a kettle or a mash tun, but I've never seen anything like it and don't know if it would work. I finally found a picture of it at a home distilling forum:

Can anyone tell me if this would work? What kind of keg is this?

if you can get the rubber off of it and cut the top out, I don't see why it wouldn't work as a kettle

how big is it? The pics you linked to make it look kind of small.

You wouldn't have to remove the rubber parts to use it as a mash tun would you? Could you cut out the top like a usual Sanke? I'm just guessing but I think an angle grinder with a disk would cut through the rubber and stainless. Something to think about anyways.
