i have been brewing for the last six months and have been having trouble with my keg system. every brew i have made seems to just come out the tap as froth. i am carbonating at 35-40psi for 48 hours then winding back to around 8psi to pour. after getting frustrated with my last batch i opened up the keg and tried the beer and it was great. carbonated well and tasted good so i am unsure why i am only getting froth through my taps. any suggestions?

how long and what size is your beer line i am running two taps on my keezer one is 7 ft long of 3/16 and it comes out great at 10 psu. my other one is a about 4 ft long and came with the kit i bought. i get all foam down to about 4psi. sounds like an un balanced system to me.

With your next keg, just set it to 12PSI and leave it for 2 weeks to carb, so you can be sure it is not overcarbed.

with 5 feet of 3/16 line under 10-12PSI, i simply hold my picnic tap about a foot higher than the top of the keg, and pour with no problem. Make sure you squeeze the picnic tap trigger ALL THE WAY, if you only open it part way, you will definatley get foam.

You can always try https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/cure-your-short-hose-troubles-100151/

Are you venting the keg after turning it down to 8 for serving? if not guess what...You're still serving with 35-40psi.
Also what size beer line ID, what length, beer temp?

i have made the mistake of not venting before and it went everywhere!! yes i am venting it down now. i am running about a meter and a half (about 5 feet) of 3/16 piping. beer temp is about 4 degrees celcius ( around 40degrees fahrenheit) and is climbing about .6metre ( 1.5 feet) from the keg to the tap

i have just tried using around six feet of 1/16 hose and it is pouring alot better but still a fair amount of froth, and i have noticed that when i stop pouring, the froth in the line is bubbling up to the top of the beer line where the tap is so whenever i start pouring the next jug of beer i am getting about two and a half feet of froth come out before any beer. am i on the right track and maybe try an even longer hose?
