Hey All, just wondering on how this will turn out, some alternate hop selection due to lbhs shortage. Partial Extract with steeping grains, substituting Perle hops for Northern Brewer. Additionally want to dry hop with Citra. Any thoughts if this is good idea or not? Doing a 10 gallon batch, so I have 2 oz of Citra for that, could use all or some of it depending on your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Perle for northern brewer will be slightly different, but just fine, not a problem, just make sure the ibus work out the same.

If you are going to dry hop use restraint. Id use 1oz for 10 gallons max. And do you have anything more restrained than citra? You dont want it tasting like an ipa. (unless you do, but then why make a cal common?)

Thanks for the pointers! Maybe I'll save the Citra for another ale or ipa.
