Just relaying my find.

We were clearing a hiking trail for the MetroPark and decided to leave her. She was just starting to set burrs or side-arms at the leaf unions.

Didn't see any others during our 3hr stint.

I'll check back on her in a couple weeks.

Quite possible from the looks of it that it is a Japanese hop. Any pictures of cones or male flowers?

Dig you dig up and check for rhizomes? Japanese hops are annual and will not produce rhizomes.
