Force carbing small batches

Will it take the same amount of time to force carb a keg filled with 3 gallons of beer as it will 5 gallons at the same psi?
 
No experience doing so, but I'd say no.

You simply have 40% less liquid volume to saturate so it should take just a little over half the time.

I may be speaking out of my @ss though :D
 
I'd say for an @ss with ugly junk;) , he's correct. I've occasionally split batches and forced a half keg. Forced carbonation without shaking is a direct function of beer volume, as the absorption surface is the same. If you lay the keg on its side it would carb even faster.

Don't forget to purge the head space first.
