ok so I started this bottle on 10/8. (1 gallon)
3lbs honey
1 package of 71b-1122 yeast

estimated og at 1.120
10/16/16 - sg was 1.040
10/23/16 - sg was 1.020
10/30/16 - sg was 1.000

10/30 I racked it onto (3 bags, I think a little over 1lb) thawed (frozen store bought bags of cherries)..

color looks good, just not much cherry flavor to it. I know its still early but is there anything I can add to it for more flavor? or just let it sit on the cherries.
checked the sg and I am still at 1.000
thanks

I am still waiting to try my first cherry mead, so hopefully it tastes enough like cherries. If yours is not to your liking, then you can try letting it sit on more cherries. You might also try back sweetening a little. I had made a peach mead with several pounds of home grown peaches I had frozen, and I thought the flavor was just off. I back sweetened with a little more honey and the peach came out a little more. I think sometimes the flavor might be there, but since it is lacking sugars (sweetness) it just doesn't taste like what we are used to something tasting. Good luck in getting the flavor from your mead.
