Flavor Hops

Has anyone made a beer without flavoring hops? Can you really tell a difference in one if you only use hops for bittering and aroma?

It depends on the beer. For example, a hefeweizen and a stout don't have hops flavor or aroma, so just the bittering hops are used. That's only one addition at 60 minutes.

So, it really depends on the style you are making. In some places, the flavoring and finishing hops would be out of place.
