I'm making a chocolate stout this weekend and I have about 12 and a half pounds of grain going into it. 1 pound of the bill is flaked oats. I'm also thinking about adding a half pound of lactose to the boil . I just want to make sure that my stout has a good thick body. Do you think the flaked oats will provide enough body or do you think I still need to add the lactose?
