i got what looks like little maggots in y starter emitting tiny bubbles, is this friendly yeast or am i screwed? It's been 24 hours, no krausen, but the greyish yeast has settled to the bottom and i am getting intermittent bubbles in the airlock....what is this thing??

Sounds like the streaks of yeast left in the path of bubbles. It will start very slow with just a few bubbles at first. Give it a swirl and it should mix together and be cloudy.
