Hello all. I was given a Chinook rhizome by a co-worker. I am not a very good gardener and I was wondering if there are any typical pests to worry about and if they reauire any soil/clearance rewuirements? Any help is greatly apprrciated. He gave it to me in a half gallon sized pot and it appears dried up, so I don't know how well it will do. I plan on letting grow along my chain link.

For starters, read the "How to grow hops" thread https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f92/how-grow-hops-96920/. It has a lot of good information and will answer most of your questions. They take a lot of fertilizer and water. The fence is fine but consider "boxing" it in or it will spread.
