Hey everyone, first are foremost thank you for any input at all.

I just received my new burner (sp10) and will be leaving this year with a bang and a brew!

Black IPA

10 lbs 2 Row
2 lbs Crystal 80L
1 lbs Carafa Special iii
mash at 155 for 60 mins

1.50 oz Simcoe at 60 mins
1.00 oz Chinook at 15 mins
1.00 oz Amarillo at turn off
0.50 oz Simcoe at turn off

Yeast: WYeast 1272 American Ale II

dry hop:
1 oz Amarillo
1 oz Chinook

First recipe here and only second AG. Looking for any input.

Thanks a lot!

I think you want your mash temp to be lower...149-150.

That and cut the Crystal 80L to 1lb as well. It'd be pretty sweet with 2 lbs crystal, 155F mash temp, and Wyeast 1272...

Looks very similar to the black Ipa I brewed earlier this month. I used .5 lb C80 and 1lb carafa ii because lhbs didn't have iii. I mashed at 152, used wlp001 and used centennial and cascade hops. Its bottled now ill see how it is in a few weeks.
