I plan to do my first PM tomorrow. (AHB IPA #1) I will be mashing on my stovetop but then eventually need to get everything into my 15 gallon brew pot to continue with a full boil outside.

I am starting to get confused with the logistics of the operation; any suggestions from the brewing gods?

Keep it simple when it comes to PMs. And put deathbrewer's thread within eyesight!
did you check your grain bag's fit on your kettle yet?

If you lay out your procedure a little more fully, I'm sure there are folks here that would love to help out.

I plan to follow DeathBrewers procedure. I'm just doing a full boil instead of partial. I am also not doing the entire process on the stove. I am moving to a propane burner outside to finish.

I guess my question is, do I just adjust my sparge water volume to get to my 6 gallon preboil amount?

Right, what I would do is mash inside and heat the sparge water outside in your kettle. Haul the pot outside, pull the bag out and teabag it in the kettle. When that's done, just pour the wort from the mash tun into the kettle and adjust the volume, if needed.

The AHS American IPA I is a fantastic beer. I brewed it as an extract before I switched to AG. Probably the best IPA I've ever brewed. I dry-hopped mine with an ounce of Cascades.

We are currently 30 minutes into the 60 minute boil. Everything is going great thus far!! Thanks for the assistance.
Wish I did not have to work later or I would be enjoying a hb right now...
