First mead, first day - Dripped sweat into my Must

This is my first mead and it’s a hot day, all windows closed and fan off and I’ve just made my Must and pitched the yeast and am aerating the must and I counted three drips of sweat off my head, right into the must. Probably loaded with body-yeast.

How bad is this?

It will have absolutely no impact on the mead.

The mead could use a little salt. I bled in one of mine. Didn’t change the flavor and allowed me to call dips on the whole batch!

For small scale local honey I’ve heard prices like that. From any distributor, that would be way over prices.

I paid 90 for 12 lbs of Meadowfoam so yes. Double normal unless it is stellar honey.

Do what I do...take up beekeeping as yet another hobby. My wife started it up about a year ago...now I'm the one donning the gear and taking care of the (mostly) ladies...haha.

How bad is this?

I read somewhere, that during the middle ages vikings would sit in their vats to get the yeast in... This is not a recomendation
