I just pitched a wyeast London ale III in my attempt at a Deschutes Twilight clone about 4 hours ago. There doesn't appear to be much going on, and this is contrary to my previous experience with fermentis dry yeast. Do I have any grounds to be concerned??? My previous batches with dry yeast took off pretty quickly. I did pitch at the high end of the temperature spectrum (72 F), is that a possible culprit fir the slow movement? I know the smack pack was viable, because it did swell.

Nope. Signs of fermentation can take up to 72 hours to appear.

I pitched a WL starter 6 hours ago and it's starting to show activity. I've had it take about a day before. Just depends on the arrangement and the mood of the yeastie beasties.
