I'm brewing up my first IPA in a few days. I'm more experienced with maltier beers, and haven't really done anything very hoppy at all so far, so I'm hoping to get a bit of feedback on this recipe. In particular, is this going to be an ok hop profile? Also, suggestions on a mash profile would be appreciated. Due to timing, I might end up doing a very long (couple hours) mash on this one, but I'm still interested in what people have to suggest.

10 LB 2row
1 LB American Vienna
.5 LB Barley, flaked
.25 lb crystal 60
.25 lb crystal 120

.5 oz columbus 60 min
.5 oz chinook 30 min
.5 oz columbus 15 min
.5 oz chinook 1 min
1 oz chinook dry hop
1 oz columbus dry hop

1 packet US-05
1 tsp irish moss 15 mins

Haven't used Chinook for finishing hops, so can't really comment on the hop schedule. But for the mash profile, I tend to mash higher on my IPA's - I like the maltier profile for an IPA, balancing the hop bitterness. I might consider upping the total crystal/caramel from 1/2 lb to 1 lb.

I fail to see how a high mash temperature makes a beer "malty." Dextrinous, yes.

The recipe reads like a pretty basic APA, unless it's a 4-gallon batch.

I would double all hop additions. Chinook is a nice finisher, different than the standard stuff. I would mash at 150, and I prefer dryer IPA's so I would also add 0.5lb of corn sugar and leave the crystal alone.
