Hi, last night i brewed my first batch. the midwest supplies autumn amber ale. followed directions entirely - steeped 155 exactly at 30 minutes, set 10 minutes off heat, mixed extract in, returned to boil - i am boiling all 5 gallons in a 30qt pot, could never get it to a rolling boil on the stovetop but read at 212F degrees. the question is this....

There was a very small amount of scorched wort at the bottom of the pot in the shape of my burner pattern. with such a large pot i had to keep it on full heat to maintain temp, will this hurt the taste?

No. It's fine. That happens. I always have a scorch mark on the bottom of my 15 gallon pot in the shape of my propane burner. RDWHAHB. Welcome to the addiction.
