Brewed mad fermentationist's India red (recently on his blog).

Efficiency of 77% - I'm happy.

Pitched slurry from a recent kolsch yeast cake...and man, it has taken off in just under 3 hours!

Wiki helped in making the tun. Everyone here helped with the rest.

I'm on batch six or eight or so but you will love it. I'm doing two tomorrow and one Monday!

Way to go!

I won't be looking back on extract either. A few batches ago, I decided to brew an extract batch because I was short on time and I definitely taste the extract "twang" people talk about. Never again.

Hope it turns out well. I'm really enjoying the results, although its only red if you serve it in a pretty wide glass (in a narrow glass it looks more amber).

I personally did one none all grain then switched. I love it. I do alot of one gallon batches so I can try lots of things. Works out really well. Good luck everyone on this. It has some learning curves and when something goes wrong, it is frustrating, but it is worth it.
