sounds good to me, i prefer a 7 day dry hop though as I find the hop flavour a little fresher from my experience.

Yea I actually decided I was going to change to 10 days just opened an ipa I dry hopped for 10 days and had good flavor so I think I'm going to go with that. Thanks for the input

Yea going with med body does sound better I think I will make that adjustment

I usually make 6 gallon batches due to kettle loss and trub loss when racking to secondary/bottling bucket. 5 gallon batches yield closer to 4 gallons when completely done. You might get 4.5 if you really push it. Just an idea.

It should make the brew day run smoother by giving you a bigger margin of error. That and I prefer some body along with the crystal to balance the bitterness. You will find that you get better body now you've gone AG too so why not enjoy it :mug:

Well yea if you look up there I got a 6 gallon boil with a planned batch of 5 gallons you think i should boil more

Well I have completed my first grain. Everything went well for the most part. I missed my mash temp at first and had to add more water after it was sitting at like 138 for10-15 mins. I'm not sure how much this messed things up. I was looking for an OG of 1.070 and got 1.055. I'm still fairly new to this so what would cause me to be so far off. Inefficiency?

Your sparging method.
Did you add some DME to bring up the gravity?

No I didn't like I said first time didn't really think to do that but I guess I will next time. I batch sparged. So how much dme do you try to add to improve it and are we boiling the dme in water then adding it
