Today I am brewing an AG American Amber Ale (from brewing classic styles) and so far, so good. Hit my mash temp spot on and it only lost about 1 degree over the 60 minute mash. Gravity of the wert pre-boil came in at 1.046 and the recipe said 1.044 so I'm feeling pretty good about how it's going so far. Boil is about half way done so I guess we'll see what the post boil numbers look like.

Then it's just wait a month to try it out :p

Yeah, I'm an engineer and anything I can obsess over gets my attention :cross:

I just took my after boil sample to get my OG and by far, this is the clearest beer I have ever brewed. Yhe gravity came in a bit high compared to the recipe but I came up a bit short on volume so I have boiled some water and I'm going to add that as soon as it cools down.

If this brew comes out well I intend to enter it into a comeptition in March.

Yeah, I'm having fun :ban:
