yesterday i broke the 80% (mash) efficiency mark brewing the well know 'cream of three crops' recipe. i could not have done it without all the help, thanks to everyone for making this board an invaluable resource.

i was following a discussion yesterday, and decided to try a new method that POL (among others) suggested... add the water to the MLT and let it sit, then add the grain. i have always added water to the grain; this time around, i hit my mash temperature mark dead on, and the rest was smooth sailing.

cheers!

Wow, excellent job...

Id like to take some credit for your success, but alas, I am a student and not a teacher.

Glad it worked for you, congrats on the brew day.:mug:

on the contrary my friend... students ARE the best teachers, they just go by a different name ;)
