I'd say I minimized the heck out of that headspace. This is a Kolsch that I'll lager in my unheated mudroom for about 6 weeks. (It stays above freezing out there, though). It's in a 3-gallon better bottle.

Seriously, though - are there any potential problems with filling it that full? I have it in a milk crate so when I move it, the bottle won't deform, I have the airlock filled so that the liquid level is below the "fill" line, so I won't get suckback, and I'll be very careful when inserting the siphon for bottling - Maybe I'll even thief a bit out before going to the siphon.

Have I missed anything? thanks!

Excellent. Thanks all!

This is my first attempt at lagering anything, so I was fussing about all the unknowns. Thanks again!
