I personally witnessed a guy **** himself while fighting somebody at DLD. I would have loved a Hunter S Thompson piece on DLD.

This image immediate popped into my head. It’s from the preface from Fear and Loathing (the book). Just replace 151 with BA Dark Lord.

We walked in and saw Hunter standing there in a torn tie-dyed T-shirt covered in red splotches. Brandishing what looked like a giant horse syringe, he announced that he was going to inject 151 proof rum directly into his navel. He then jammed the “needle” into his belly and doubled over as he let out a series of wails and groans. One of my companions almost fainted.

I can't say that I have been to the Homewood location, but I have been to the original in the South Loop. It has been a few years, but they had some average beers and some terrible beers including maybe the worst Saison I have ever had.

But we all know only breweries contain the arcane knowledge of growler filling. Bars will inevitably screw it up and tell their customers that they can totally keep that growler for 3 months before opening it. Then someone might give the brewery a bad rating on Untappd.

Looks like I'll be visiting your fine city in early August. May be a bit early to ask this but are there any events in particular that I should check out? Doesn't need to be beer related. Already plan on going to a game at Wrigley and have some drinking establishments and restaurants on the to-do list.
