FG reading?

You can use any container or glass that your hydrometer will float freely in. But you usually take a final gravity reading before carbing. I assume the carbonation and bubbles would mess up the hydrometer reading, but I guess I don't know that for sure.
 
You also need those hydrometer readings to make sure you hit your OG when you brewed and to make sure that your beer is finished fermenting before you do anything else with it.

Get used to taking those readings and your beer will be better for it. :mug:
