Like most home brewers I use carboys to do my fermenting. Having acquired them from numerous sources most have fermometers already stuck on.

yea its a cheap fix to rip them off and put them on the way I want. Can I re-stick... Just kidding...

Im wondering what is the best direction to place them? Vertical horizontal angled? I assume in the middle will work fine. What do ya'll think?

I've used them both directions. They work fine either way. They're not super accurate either way, but they'll give you a decent ballpark reading. On small buckets I use them horizontal because that's how they fit. On tall buckets I go vertical because it keeps them out of the way of my heater.
