My wife just got me a ferminator as a gift. Right now I'm brewing 6 gallon batches. Has anyone tried to ferment 6 gallons in a 14 gal BlichMann? Does it work or should I save it for double batches.

I dont see any issues with this, just lots of extra head space. I wouldnt do any long term aging in it b/c of the headspace, but the co2 from fermentation will fill any of the headspace and you should be fine to do a 3-4 week primary.

done it many times and there is no issues. I e-mailed John Blichmann about it and he said it is fine also.
