Fermenter question

I'm thinking about doing my first all grain brew and would prefer to do a 2-1/2 batch. Could I use my 5 gallon carboy for fermenting, or would that invite problems?

yeah you can. it's a lot of headspace but, yeah

Nope. No problems. CO2 from the yeast will protect your beer.
