Made first all grain yesterday and used a yeast starter from white labs wlp001, today lid was popped and airlock is full of beer. Not overly concerned after reading other posts but should I abandon the airlock and make a blow off , clean airlock and fill with sanitizer, or let it be.

Thanks

Depends, is it still blowing off? If so make a blowoff, does everything look like it calmed down? Clean and replace airlock. Or if worried, make a blowoff anyway.

i always set up a blow off for the first few days then switch to a airlock. not worth the risk of having to mop the ceiling, or worse, really losing a batch of beer.

I hear you I use the blow off for carboy fermentation and probably should have off the bat considering I made a little over 6 gallons as opposed to 5. Luckily I caught it early so the closet rug isn't ruined.
