I recently setup a new chest freezer for beer storage and fermentation with a temp control unit, but I am a little concerned that I will have to remove my stupid big collection of craft beer every time I brew a beer. My question is this; will the ambient temps cooling the wort down be cool enough to freeze my bottles of beer, or will I be safe to continue storage of my purchased beer?

I would guess that it is OK to keep the commercial beers in there. It should not get anywhere near cold enough to freeze them. Mine fluctuates between 62 and 66 ambient, usually.

Though I would think you would want the space for more fermenters.

34° F is about the coldest I saw during my barleywine ferment.
