Fermentation chamber

Hi I'm just wondering if I should install a foam pad on the floor of my chest freezer that I've made into a fermentation chamber. Thanks for your replies.

May as welI. I did all walls on mine. I bought a cheap fridge off craigslist and them framed around it and insulated and sealed all seams. I can fit easily 3- 5 gal batches. Check out my photos on profile for pics..

I wouldn't do it even if I had one. Could be a good place for mold to grow.

There's no need. Chest freezers are well insulated by design.

+1 to ktblunden. I have 2 temp controlled chest freezers, 1 for fermentation and lagering, and another converted into a kegerator. I've never found any additional insulation to be necessary.
