I believe a few of us would've gotten drawn in to a drunken rambling of phish lyrics, and it would've been enjoyable. Kinda f'ed up to close a thread because you don't like the band (I'm guessing that's why you did it).

... Like whippets they dance, in a curly queue dance.

C'mon, that thread was totally lame. I like Phish and have seen them many, many times. I still found that thread useless...

WHo cares if it's lame. Don't post in it. Don't read it. No reason to close it... it's in the effin "Durnken ramblings and mindless mumblings" section. Don't be a bitch about it.

Hey, now you're getting personal...;) :D :mug:

I just read the alleged phishing lyrics thread and for the life of me I don't get (understand) why it was closed...anyone care to expound?

Yo, Bird? How about educating me on why it was closed. Maybe it's an age gap thing, but I REALLY don't understand.

We're going to lighten it up a bit
We're going to lighten it up a bit
This really isn't a stupid thread
This is a special thread
This is an important thread
This is a dance thread
This is.. HOMEBREWTALK...THIS IS THE EDGE!!!
No really this is a thread about...
We want to get serious now that we have your attention
We want to talk about..
We want to talk about an important man
Who could have an important effect
On everybody in this forums' lives
If they were willing to take the chance
To let this person into their hearts and their views
Because this is a special man
this man was a philosepher many years ago
And this man wrote a great book
For this is the author of the Helping Friendly Book
The book that could change your life, the way it changed ours
And I hope that someday
That you, you people will all have the chance
To read the Helping Friendly Book
And experience the wisdom
Of the great and knowledgeable
Man who wrote the Helping Friendly Book
Because he is, the great and knowledgeable
He is the one, the only
Author of the great Helping Friendly Book
HE is, the man, the great man, the only
the special
His name is...
The Author of the Helping Friendly Book
He is the great, the knowledgeable
The one, the only
The great and knowledgeable
Person who wrote the Helping Friendly Book
His name could only be
The one, the only
The only, the special, the Author of the Helping Friendly Book
HE WROTE THE *****ING BOOK OK!
HE WROTE THE BOOK
His name..

I just told you ;)

No but seriously, maybe it was closed because the forum is Drunken, not Baked Ramblings

See, I *love* Phish.... haven't been to as many shows as Cheese (four or five total for me), but c'mon, people... at least PRETEND that there's some more substance to a thread, even in Drunken Ramblings, than quoting a song from twenty years' ago. :D

EDIT: Take a look at the Phish poster's thread history and then let me know whether you think a "short leash" should be employed or not...

EDIT II: There's some stuff that's been deleted...

Where is it and I'll promise to check it out. PROMISE.
In the meantime, how about some Freebird? Stairway to Heaven? :rockin:

Were those songs famous before you were born? I had to wait for each and every song to come out in "real time". I was 10 when I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan...:D

To be honest, a lot of your threads haven't shown a lot of decency for a public forum. But you obviously have some taste if you like to spout the lyrics of Fee. I"m just backing the idea of a clean thread in a drunken forum not getting closed.

OK, so he's an immature idiot (how's that for backing you up??)...weren't we all at some time) most of the time...everytime????

I haven't read anything offensive. Stupid (to me), yes. Idiotic, of course.

I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job, I'm just trying to understand and i have to tell you at this point it's going over my head. What am I missing??

Not a huge phish fan but:

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

continuing from my previous thread: ...

Like whippets they dance in a curly-queue dance
Of pulses and ringing and campfire chants
Of ritual drumming although at first glance
You thought you could run but you wont take a chance

Its not an experience if they cant bring someone along
They hang on emotions they bottle inside
They peck at the ground
And strut out of stride

A little harsh dont ya think??

My lyrical spill of phish lyrics was an attempt to draw conversation from any jamband enthusiasts that may have been lurking on the forum. For you to judge someones intelligence by a lyric post in the Drunk & Rambling thread seems....well..... im on thin ice ya know so peace to all....

But who can unlearn all the facts that Ive learned
As I sat in their chairs and my synapses burned
And the torture of chalk dust collects on my tongue
Thoughts follow my vision and dance in the sun
All my vasoconstrictors they come slowly undone
Cant I live while Im young?

Sorry, I couldn't control it...

Dude, you totally missed a line:

Can't this wait till I'm old? Can't I live while I'm young?

Are you guys still diggin good jams? Or have you guys "grown up"?
I'm grown up, I like to think, I'm pretty responsible these days ... but I also still blast phish and GD all the time. I've moved on a bit though, I like a lot of the new indy music out there: Clap Your Hands Say Yea, Kings of Convenience, Animal Collective.

I'll still drive a few hours to see Particle or Umphrees as well.

Forgot to add my lyrics to this thread

Dripping in this strange design
None is yours and far less mine
Hold the wheel, read the sign
Keep the tires off the line
Just relax, your doing fine
Swimming in this real thing
I call life...
but can I bring...
a few companions on this ride

Oh man...must have enjoyed those days way too much!

Jammin or grown up? A little of both I guess. I've been to every year of Bonnaroo except this year (moved across the country instead), hit up every Phish "festival" excpet Oswego and Cypress. Gave up being a taper after Coventry though. Fallen on the "indy" scene my self. But I'll never give up on the fab four.

Staring over the edge of the bed
My old lady lying next to me, I started to cry
She said "I'm gonna take this diploma,
I'm gonna slice you in the eye!"
