Notes
================================================================================
This is based off the Basic American Brown Ale recipe from the Homebrewer's Recipe Guide book (by Maura Kate Kilgore, Paul Hertlein and Patrick Higgins). The OG is a little lower, English yeast is used and Crystal 60 is used in place of Crystal 40. Plus, I only had 3/4 of a lb of 60, so I added 4 oz of Crystal 90. A few ounces of Black Patent are added just to get to the color range. A hop variety I got on sale in the summer, plus Nugget, is used for bittering, and the classic Cascade will be thrown into the kettle to steep for 10 minutes once it cools to under 190 F.

I plan to brew this tomorrow.
