This month's Brew Your Own has a section on session beers. Let's call a session beer one with less than 4.5% ABV but that doesn't taste watered down.

My favorite so far is BierMuncher's Nierra Sevada.

Anybody else have a favorite?

10 lbs Maris Otter, mashed low, one 60-min addition of whatever leftover hops you have in the freezer to about 25ish IBU. Always a winner.

Oat Mild

5lbs Oat Malt
1lb caramel 60L
1/4 lb Chocolate malt
1/2 oz fuggle@60min
Wlp 022

Protein rest @ 122 then raise to 158 for 45 min

I'm looking for a favorite. Right now I've got Orfy's Mile Mannered and Biermuncher's Centennial Blond. I'm building a recipe for an Bramling Ordinary Bitter. I've also found a lot of possibles during my research including some Belgian Table beers like this one that look very interesting. So many beers, so little time. Must. Drink. Faster.

I make a variation of Jamil's ordinary bitter. I add half an ounce of challenger to the late hop and then dry hop with half an ounce of EKG in the keg. It blew in 30 minutes at a party last summer.

Another great one is a 4.3% saison with brett. Awesome.
