I saw this recipe somewhere on the web a while ago and remember writing it down on some scrap paper. Now i can't find the where it is on the web.

I am only a three batches into home brewing, so by all means a noob.
Most of my recipes were right out of my LHB store.

My favorite beers are Mac & Jacks African Amber, Dead Guy, and Arrogant bastard.

I like the idea of a sweat amber with a bit of extra gravity to it.
How could i Mod this recipe a bit to get that?

-------------------------

Extract
7 lbs light LME
1 lbs Light DME

Grains
1 lbs Munic Malt
.5 lbs crystal 80
.5 lbs carapils (dextrin) Malt

Hops
1 oz Cascade hops at start of one hour boil
1 oz Cascade hops w/2 min left in boil

1 tsp irish moss w/10 min left in boil

White labs WLP005 (british ale) or Wyeast 1098 (British ale) yeast

--------------------------------

I didn't write down an original gravity... so i really don't know what it would be, however i am guessing with 8 lbs of extract it should be above 1.060...
Any ideas on how to give it a little more kick? would i need different hops? or perhaps different yeast? Any ideas on how to mod this a bit would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

WLP005 makes a nice malty beer, it isn't that high of an attenuator. You could steep some extra Crystal, maybe a pound of 80L or add some additional DME.

Do you think an extra pound of DME would call for more bittering hops?
