I have an Octoberfest kit that I was going to brew, but it's a lager yeast and I do not have the temperature control methods to brew it. So my plan was to break the kit up and use the ingredients in different stuff.

So my question is, does anyone have a recipe that uses 6.6 lbs of Munich liquid extract? And if not, could I just use it interchangeably with another extract? For example, could I use Munich LME instead if a regular malt extract? Or is the taste too different.

Not a bad idea. I'm new to brewing so I wasn't sure I could switch from lager to ale without compromising the taste significantly.

If you use US-05 just ferment it on the lower end around 60-62F. Should come out pretty clean and be a decent "mock"toberfest...

...I mean, I'd drink it. :D
