Extra 1/2 gal of wort for a starter

Hi everyone

Last week my buddy came up a bit over on a RIS sparge by about 1/2 gal. I know it was the last runnings however is there any reason why this couldn't be used for his next RIS yeast starter?

He bottled it up for the next batch but wanted to see what you think

I think as long as the SG is 1.035, give or take, it will work great.
