Well, I would say there pretty damn accurate. Ive always wondered this myself untill i got a waterproof digital thermometer for my MLT and thought i would test it out on some starsan/water in my fermentor...The proof is in the pic:)

Yep, they're pretty good, I know I use 'em on all my stuff. Just helps to confirm and give a preliminary/approximate reading if I don't need something too accurate. There's a reason they sell so many, lol. :mug:

Can you test on a plastic bucket? I use buckets and have wondered the temp differential.

On the buckets it carries a few more degrees in variance, due to it not conducting heat as well as a glass carboy, but they're still good on there for approximate temp readings.

I dont use buckets, but if i had another thermometer sticky i would slap one on a depot pail and try it out. mmmmmm, i may just have an extra one, lemme check..

I do have an extra one, and im wasteing it on a bucket to do a test....guess i will take one for the team;)

Be back in a hour for a reading and pics...

I put it on my bottling bucket so its not to much of a waste:) Just filled her up to 5 gallons, will let it sit for an hour and take the reading....

How did the bucket do? I've got one on mine its reading 68° in my 68° house. Can't open her up as I am in my initial fermentation phase. I can check in about 5 days when I rack to secondary.

Still letting the water/bucket adjust to room temp. Will take a reading with some pics in a little while..

Off by a little cause of the bucket but not much, maybe a degree or so if that. Pretty accurate if ya ask me. If it shows two readings on the sticky, go with the lowest one and thats pretty damn close to actual i would think...

I only use plastic buckets and all three of them use the stick on thermometers. I have a fermentation chamber to maintain constant temps.

All of my stick on thermometers state the same temp.

3 thermometers all saying the same thing? Thats good enough for me.
