Hey all,

Making the switch to electric and had a pump question. New brew panel has L5-15R sockets for the pumps, but I was planning on using my existing riptide pumps with regular cords. Are peeps really cutting the plugs off the pumps and adding a L5-15P plug? I heard that voids warranty. Or do folks buy adapters? If using adapters, any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

The reason most folks like the locking plugs is because panels typically put those plugs on the bottom edge so the cables are hanging from the plugs in sockets. Twist-locks will keep the plugs in place.

Yes, you can buy adapters like this:

and live with the possibility of your pump cords unplugging from the adapters :)
Or, replace your pump plugs with L5-15R. I can't imagine why that would void a pump warranty unless the conversion was totally botched...

Cheers!
