Efficiency??

Perhaps a silly question--but I can't find it in a number of my books. Lots of people seem to reference it. Can anyone give me more of a specific definition? Thank you.

You're reading the wrong books. It's the amount of sugar extracted from the grain, if your not all-grain, you don't need to worry about it yet. www.howtobrew.com

efficiency is a function of how much sugar was extracted from grains from a theoretical value of 100% usually around 1.035 ppg(pounds/gallon)
