For calculating efficiency, I take a gravity reading post boil, correct? Or is it post mash, pre boil.
What sites calculator do you guys find to be most accurate. I noticed alot of differences in what info each one asks for to calculate.

There are 2 kinds of efficiency that are discussed in brewing.

MASH efficiency (For anything BUT extract brewing)
For any given grain bill, there is a TOTAL possible amount of sugars available.
The mash efficiency, which is taken PRE-BOIL, would be the percentage of those sugars that were converted and drained into the kettle.

BREWHOUSE efficiency
Is calculated after mashing, sparging, and boiling.
It takes into consideration ALL the places where some of the precious stuff is lost along the way
- loss to mash tun
- loss to trub and hop residue after boiling, etc...

Make sense?
