Early Burrs...Anybody else have flowers growing? I do!

Weather here in the middle Carolina's has been above 70˚ and well into the 80's for the past month. I love this early spring! My 2nd year hops are amazing at 12 or so feet with leaves as big as my hand!

My Cascade took off particularly fast and oddly enough has in the past 3-4 days sprouted burrs (pictures below). It's pretty cool! However as some of us know sometimes a bine terminates in a hop flower and doesn't grow any higher. I think this may have happened because we had a sudden drop in temperature and one night it got into the mid 40's.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Around half of the bines will not grow any higher from this crown and I was wondering if anyone had experience with early budding and if it would be a good idea to cut the bines down so that others would take their place and grow to full height?
