Hey all,

Finally going to brew a batch today... been a damn long time!!

Question is, I have a packet of dry yeast which I have been storing in the fridge. Do I need to take it out and let it warm up to room temp before pitching. BTW this is the first time using dry yeast... any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks all

It doesn't really need to be warmed up but hydrating it is good. I use one cup of warm water, sprinkle yeast on top, and let it sit for 15 - 30 minutes. I give it a little stir right before pitching. Hydrating wakes up the yeast gently and gets it going faster.
