double decoct smells sweet malty. delicious out of fermenter

I double decocted an O-fest and when I check the hydrometer it smells like heaven. Oh yeah, 4 days into a nice cold ferment I'm also already at 1.024. I propped up the starter perfectly.

I just wish my thermometer didn't break in this batch!!!!!! SWMBO already agreed to let me make another, but I feel like it's such a waste. Oh well. At least I think it'll be better next time around. I hope.

What a friggin tease.....

I use digital temperature sensors. I do not let glass near my beer either. I ferment in Sanky kegs now. It is much better for safety.
