Hi guys and gals. I'am looking for a recipe for Dos Equis clone. I have one but it's not quite right. Thanks in advance

Gunner I had already seen that recipe. Might be ok but using ale yeast I would be able to lager it. I don't think. I don't do AG yet. More than likely never will. From what I read it seems like a lot of work.

Either the Amber or the Special from Forrest at Austin Homebrew. His kits are the bee's knees. Plus you can get your yeast and nutrient with it, all at one stop.

And don't let All Grain scare you. It's not that much more work. And it's a lot of fun. You have control over so many more aspects of your beer. But in the meantime, keep brewin' what you can, and work your way into the hobby, it's a great one!

BTW, Any other commercial brews you're looking to clone... I usually check Austin Homebrew first. Like I said, Forrest's kits are super cool, and he sells them at very reasonable prices.

Here is one that I have used. Got it from"Homebrew Recipes for 150 Commercial Beers":
Crush & steep in 1 gall @ 150^F for 20 minutes
6 oz 2.5^L German Light crystal malt
1 lb German Vienna malt
1 oz black malt

Sparge the grains with 1/2 gallon at 159^F

5.5 lb light DME ( I have added only 2# at this point and the final 3.5# at the last 20 minutes)
1.4 lb Malt-dextrin
1.2 oz Tettnanger @ 5% AA (bittering)

Boil for 50 minutes. add:
1/4 oz Tettnanger
1.4 oz Czech Saax
1 tsp Iris moss

Continue Boil for another 10 minutes

Yeast:
1st choise Wyeast's 2124 Bohemian Lager - (WLP 820 Octoberfest / Marzen Lager)
2nd choice: Wyeasts 2206 Bavarian Lager - (WLP 830 German Lager)

Primary at 50^F - about 2-3 weeks
seconday: 2-3 weeks

Bottle
Priming sugar

I did this AG version of a dos eqius clone from the recipator.com. I couldn't lager so I used the san francisco lager yeast and fermented at 65. It was really good.

6.50 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 60.02 %
1.00 lb Munich Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM) Grain 9.23 %
1.00 lb Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) Grain 9.23 %
0.75 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM) Grain 6.93 %
0.75 lb Caramunich Malt (56.0 SRM) Grain 6.93 %
0.75 lb Wheat Malt, Ger (2.0 SRM) Grain 6.93 %
0.08 lb Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 0.74 %
1.00 oz Hallertauer [4.80 %] (60 min) Hops 17.4 IBU
0.50 oz Saaz [4.00 %] (15 min) Hops 3.6 IBU
0.50 oz Saaz [4.00 %] (1 min) Hops 0.3 IBU
1 Pkgs San Francisco Lager (White Labs #WLP810) Yeast-Lager

you could sub out the pale malt for 5lbs of Light DME and steep the specialty malts

We kicked this keg in 45 minutes at a housewarming party for my friend. He got a keg of Miller light and my 5 gallons of this clone. The ML wasn't even tapped before my keg got kicked.
