brewed up biermunchers cream ale recipe just one month ago and this so much better than any extract kit i tried.
it is a very tasty beer.
the results are so much better than i ever expected!
more work but sooooo worth it!!

i did 4 extract batches before doing AG. it has only been fermenting for 2 days but the expierence and smells were so much better than extract

I used to work for Fastenal- they mark up the stainless series horrendously. If you say you work for a local company and know they have a discount they'll knock down their margin. Seriously, a 7 margin isn't unheard of.

It's not a bad store overall but watch your cornhole.

I would love to move up to AG, but I think my next investment is going to be in an immersion wort chiller, seems like the best return for my money right now.

I badly want to go AG, but there are issues. Money is the major one, made even more of an issue by my not being overly handy. I'll revise that: DIY projects tend to intimidate me until I actually do them. By the time I try to tackle them, time becomes an issue.

I will go AG eventually, with a target date of next spring. It would be sooner but my crazy time at work has begun and won't end until April.

Until then, I'll keep doing the PMs and extracts that thus far have turned out even better than hoped.

Definitely...an imersion chiller is more important. Get that then atleast move to extract full boils! Next step...AG!

Mash tun... check. Propane burner... check. 6.5 gallon kettle... check. (Figure I can boil 5.5 in it.) Big box o' grain from AHS... on the way. First AG batch this weekend, with any luck.

By the way, if anyone's hard up for a stainless steel washer, send me a note and I'll see if I can help. I can get them locally pretty easily.

You may want to add water as your boil goes on to keep it up to volume by the time the boil is done if you are shooting for a 5 gallon batch.

One thing I did was extend the inner pipe, but instead of going with a SS washer which is IMPOSSIBLE to find around here. I used a 20 mm SS Bolt.
Just thinking outside of the box, works sometimes and sometimes its a real mess.
