I put away my glass thermometer within the first month of brewing, just short of 8 years ago. It was way to slow. I tried a couple digital models, ended up with a Thermapen from Thermoworks. It was $79. It gave out after about 5-6 years. I then bought a cheap one, it was supposed to be instant read but it took too long. Probably only 20-30 seconds but that was still too long for me. Went a little more expensive and bought a Lavatools Javelin. It works great.

Good luck with yours.
