I made a Barleywine a while ago and bottle conditioned it. It was clear going into the bottle and after three weeks of carbonation, it dropped very clear. I put it in the fridge and bam! Super bad chill haze, on par with the worst chill haze I’ve seen. Fast forward two weeks and it drops clear as day again.

Flash back to a black IPA that I made that had bad chill haze and also a beer that I didn’t use Irish moss in and the chill haze in that beer lingered for at least 6 months.

I am wondering based on this anecdotal evidence if anyone has seen chill haze drop clear relatively fast in a recipe that included Whirlfloc/Irish moss, where when the recipe didn’t include kettle finings, chill haze lingered for an excruciatingly long time?
