Just wondering if i was to use finnings in my next brew does it effect the taste???

I've used various finings before, and as long as you let them all precipitate out you won't taste them. Are you thinking of clearing it after the fermentation, so you'd use bentonite or polyclar, or something during the boil like irish moss or whirlfloc? I'm a big fan of whirlfloc during the boil, it helps clear the beer immensely.

I'm a fan of irish moss because it settles quickly, clears up proteins nicely and is dirt cheap. No added flavors there, just boil a teaspoon for the last 15 minutes of a 5 gallon boil!!

However, adding some clarifying agents to the secondary can screw your head and head retention, like gelatin.
