Got this from my wine making son and know nothing about it. Wondering if I should use it for my equipment or should I wait until I can get some Star San.
Anyone?

Sodium and potassium metabisulfite are fine for winemaking but they're really not potent enough for brewing. Best to use Star San.

Wine is different than beer in that it typically has a lower pH, more acid and a higher ABV. All of this gives wine more natural protection against infection and spoilage.

Use Starsan or Idophore for sanitizing.
Use the Campden for removing chlorine from municipal water. It is the perfect chlorine remover.

I went way out of my normal path home tonight and got a bottle of the good stuff..StarSan. I will be brewing tonight!
