I want to build a whirlpool set up on my blichman 55. I fly sparge at a very slow trickle, and get great efficiency. I usually just hang hose over top of kettle and let it trickle down side. I was wondering if I fill my kettle through my whirlpool arm at a really slow rate, what happens when the liquid level reaches the whirlpool arm height? Will it restrict my flow, or will it still fill the kettle fine with same flow rate? I guess it would be like bottom filling, but like I said I've only filled kettle slowly from top. Thank you for any input!

It will work fine, it's how I've always done it. Just make Sure you shut your whirlpool valve while your pumps still running so wort doesn't flow back down your tubing.
